YOGA THERAPY FOR THE KNEES

Lori Nadle and Marion Robinson, C-IAYT, teach a protocol to support healthy knee function. The sequence includes mini vinyasas to improve range of motion in the knee joint and a series of classical poses which when held, help to strengthen the muscles that support the knee. The ankles and feet are not to be forgotten and are addressed in balancing poses and in the use of the thera band.  Join these ladies in an afternoon dedicated to our favorite  hinge joint in the body...THE KNEE.

YOGA THERAPY & YOGA
HOW WE PRACTICE YOGA ...


Studio M Pilates and Yoga offers both Yoga Therapy and Yoga Classes.  Yoga Therapy sessions give detailed instruction for postures which are specific to the issue being addressed.  To ensure the best alignment in your therapeutic practice, you will be taught  modifications that allow you to move through your protocol safely.  A consistent practice can be transformational...these classes will find poses for your personal practice.  Students attending our general Yoga classes can expect to learn several of the classical poses during the class, with additional emphasis on alignment and breath.  
All Yoga classes are included in your membership package, except Workshops and Private Yoga Sessions.

 WORKSHOPS

Each of these Therapeutic Workshops teach a variety of  Asana, Pranayama and Relaxation Techniques which are tailored to particular health issues.  Upcoming sessions:

YOGA FOR OSTEOPOROSIS CLASS

This one hour class teaches a sequence designed by Dr. Loren Fishman MD, whose research suggests that Yoga raises Bone Mineral Density in the spine and in the femur. The classes are taught by Marion Robinson CIAYT, Certified Yoga for Osteoporosis, Fishman Method.

PRIVATE YOGA THERAPY

Yoga therapy adapts classical yoga practices for people with health challenges, to assist them in moving towards their goals.  Clients are assessed before being given a progressive sequence of poses specific to their needs. The desired result is a return to balance and overall wellbeing.
